Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Hybrid | London

£80,000 – £110,000/annum plus benefits

Role:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a global consultancy, you’ll initially be aligned to a Defence-related project, where you’ll lead a team in helping to relocate data to a new cloud platform.

Working hybrid, you would expect to be on site 2 days/month in Central London. This will require you hold an active UK Government Security Clearance, which you would be sponsored through, if not currently held.

This role will see you be 50% operations-focused, 50% automation-focused – from systems builds to setting up dashboards, for what is sure to be a programme with real purpose.

You’d improve services by using a metrics-driven approach, work within an agile delivery team and be responsible for delivering effective IT operational processes across a key programme in the defence sector.

Your experience:

  • Maintaining the availability of critical services using monitoring and alerting solutions
  • An understanding of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines & associated automation frameworks
  • Demonstrable knowledge of AWS Console/CLI, Prometheus & Grafana
  • Experience of privileged access management processes & technologies
  • Good understanding of container orchestration technologies and observability services for Docker & Kubernetes
  • Troubleshooting and debug issues across cloud environments

Process:

On applying, you can expect a two-stage process which is typically completed in two weeks.  You will first have a virtual meeting with one of the Defence-sector programme leads, which lasts between 60 minutes.  This will be a refreshingly open discussion around the company and their journey so far as well as a chance to speak more openly about you, what you enjoy doing and the direction in which you are looking to take your career.

Following this, a final stage 60 min video call will be arranged where you can expect to delve further into your background and technical skill-set.
